Levitation Platform Floats Home Accessories In Midair (psfk)

Illusion artist Brusspup has created and uploaded a video that shows a levitation device making various objects float in midair.
Brusspup, who creates science and illusion videos, made this particular video while visiting the Netherlands and he used the CLM 2 Magnetic Levitation Module provided by Crealev, an Eindhoven, Netherlands-based company that develops levitation technology and floating products, to make objects weighing nearly 20 pounds float in midair.
Crealev's magnetic levitation modules consist of two components, a base that contains the electronics and a carrier disc or ring. The base contains the levitation technology, has an optical sensor, and needs electric power to function. The carrier disc or floating disc is a magnetic disc and can be used to float objects by integrating them within the objects or by placing the objects on top or over the carrier disc. To activate the CLM 2 module, the user has to insert the power plug into an electrical socket. According to the product page, Crealev's CLM 2 Magnetic Levitation Module has a maximum floating height of 87 mm and can carry loads up to 10 kilograms.
For his video, Brusspup hid the carrier disc inside the objects to …

Australian Police Confiscate Pastafarian Man's Guns Because He Posed For His ID Card Wearing A Colander (Techdirt)

I have to admit, the whole _Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster_ thing is beautiful to me. The whole concept hits exactly the sweet spot of the irony bat for someone who preaches secularism in the face of a diverse population. If you somehow don't know the history of this "church", go read up on it. It's completely worth it. The point being made by so-called pastafarians is one of keeping religion out of the government and vice versa. It started with combatting a misguided attempt to inject faith into public schools, but it has evolved to mock any attempt to bring religious dogma into the public square.

The latest example comes from Australia, where a self-described pastafarian went about mocking the rules set up for firearm ID pictures by wearing a colander on his head.
> _Guy Albon convinced the photographer that he was a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster so that he could wear the colander- a symbol of the satirical religious movement whose members refer to themselves as Pastafarians. The 30-year-old said he exploited a law that allows headgear to be worn in photos._

Genuine Internet or Home Based Business Opportunities?

I am looking for a genuine Internet or Home based business with little or no investment. If you have anything to suggest, please let me know or email steve at: lookafter1 at hotmail dot com.

[display_name id=”0″]

You can only obtain legitimate work from home positions from brick and mortar companies.

You want to send your resume out to companies hiring for positions you are qualified for, but include in your resume that you have a home office and you wish to work remotely. Include how you have your home office set up and what equipment you already have in order for you to perform your job.

These jobs are just going to advertised as jobs, they would not promote them as "work at home" because they would hear from too many unqualified people.

Is there a legitimate home based business opportunity?

Can anyone recommend a real, legitiment home based business? I have a special needs child and I need something that I can work strictly from home.
Brandi,
I have done the ameriplan thing not my cup of tea. I sold some of course but never enough to help myself really just enough to keep me in there a few months and then when I had to give it up all my people of course went to the girl who got me into it. If you have the extra money to stick it out sure eventually you will get where you will make money cause people under you will quit but until that happens you are basically just spending money on advertising and paying ameriplan so it just didn't work out for me I am NOT a sales person…….

13 Reasons To Look At Max International

1. Steve Scott: (Founder/Owner)

Founder, Steve Scott, was the creator of the Television Infomercial business over 30 years ago. Steve has produced infomercials with over ninety one Hollywood Movie Stars such as Chuck Norris & Christie Brinkley (Total Gym), Richard Simmons (Sweatin' to the Oldies), John Tesh & Connie Sellica (Gary Smalley Marriage Enrichment Course) and many others. Steve also started 10 other businesses that all grew into multi-million dollar companies.

When Steve was asked to market MaxGXL, his original reaction was, "No, I do not promote products that go into the mouth". To make a long story short – when Steve saw the scientific evidence that MaxGXL did, in fact, slow down the aging process and eliminate many age related diseases, he told his partners that he was going to retire from doing infomercials and spend the rest of his life marketing this Breakthrough product.

Watch Steve's Interview with Larry King @ www.stevenkscott.com

==================================================================

2. Guthy-Renker (Owner):

When Steve Scott realized the magnitude of this Breakthrough product, he asked his friends and competitors, Bill Guthy and Greg Renker to join him. Guthy-Renker had a team of Scientists and Doctors evaluate the product and, 2 weeks later, came back to them saying, "This is the real deal"… MaxGXL is scientifically PROVEN to slow down aging and eliminate many age related diseases. Guthy-Renker eagerly became part owners of Max International and committed to produce infomercials with Hollywood movie stars on each of Max's products.

Did you get that? Infomercials on Max's Products to make them a household word. Launched 20 years ago by Co-CEOs Bill Guthy and Greg Renker, Guthy-Renker is today one of the world's largest direct response television companies with sales of more than $1.5 Billion per year with products like Proactiv Solutions with Jessica Simpson, Winsor Pilates,Sheer Cover with Leeza Gibbons, and Get the Edge with Tony Robbins.

===================================================================

3. Greg Fullerton (Owner):

Those of you who have been in the sales industry are probably familiar with "Franklin Covey" (Franklin Planner). Greg Fullerton was the founder/creator of Franklin Quest which later merged with Steven Covey (7 Habits of Highly Successful People) to form Franklin Covey. Greg Fullerton has given his time management seminars to ALL 500 of the Fortune 500 Companies.

When Steve Scott introduced Greg to MaxGXL and when Greg saw how it was effecting the quality of people's lives, he jumped in with both feet and made a commitment to spend the rest of his life building Max International.

==================================================================

4. Salt Lake City:

For some reason, Salt Lake City is the home of 70 plus major Network Marketing companies. Since neither Greg Fullerton nor Steve Scott nor Bill Guthy nor Greg Renker had any experience building a network marketing business, they used their financial resources to recruit some of the most qualified and most experienced individuals in the entire industry from these other companies.

For example, many of our V.P.'s have either been the President, Owner or Founder of their own Network Marketing company somewhere along the way. These well qualified leaders are the Best of the Best and more than capable of taking Max International worldwide because they have all done it before.

===================================================================

5. Deep Pockets:

It is evident by the quality of Leadership recruited from these other companies and the quality of the Max Marketing materials, that there is plenty of money behind this company. Every month they fly over 100 Network Marketers into the home office… Pick them up in limo's, pay for their hotel stay for 2 – 3 nights and wine and dine them with great food.

During these 48 hour stays, the founders, owners and top level management mingle with their guests, treat everyone with respect and make themselves accessible to each and every person there. They share their heart and their dream, answer questions and invite their guests to join them in building a championship company.

===================================================================

6. Dr. Robert Keller: (Creator of Max GXL)

Dr. Robert Keller was voted one of America's Top Physicians for the past 5 years, as well as being recognized as one of the Top 2,000 scientists of the 21st century. Dr. Keller treats people with Aids, Cancer and Auto-Immune disorders in his Florida clinic. In an effort to help his patients, Dr. Keller created/formulated and has been using MaxGXL in his practice (and also in Africa) for over 10 years with great success.

Therefore, although Max International is only 1 year old, the product has been undergoing clinical trials and testing for more than 10 years.

7. Composition Patent:

There are two types of patents awarded to nutritional products. The U.S. Patent office awarded Dr. Keller a "Composition Patent" for his scientific discovery.

1. UTILITY PATENT – This patent allows for a competitor to change up to 30% of the formula and still receive a patent on a similar product.

2. COMPOSITION PATENT – This patent does not allow anyone to change even one ingredient in an attempt to duplicate your product. This is the same patent is given Pharmaceuticals.

===================================================================

8. John Nelson:

John Nelson, the immediate past President of the American Medical Association, a man who was passionate about putting what he called "quack" products out of business when president of the AMA, said this about MaxGXL:

"This product, in my opinion, represents the single most important
breakthrough in health that I will witness in my life time. I believe it
will revolutionize, change, and transform the practice of medicine
world-wide and make Dr. Robert Keller more famous than Jonas Salk
who created the polio vaccine."

===================================================================

9. Breakthrough Products:

Steve Scott told us that Max will never be a catalog company and will only represent "Breakthrough" products. Here is how Steve described a Breakthrough product:

1. It's Break Through Effective… meaning it's new and not a copy or knock-off of another product.

2. It's Science Based … meaning the product is backed by scientific research and clinical testing.

When Steve was in the infomercial business his company researched 2,000 products to find one "Breakthrough" product good enough to turn into an infomercial.

The Home Shopping Network asked Steve's company to evaluate their products for a year and choose which ones were good enough to do an infomercial on. At the end of one year they had not found one product that was what Steve called a "Breakthrough" product.

Max International has 3 more Breakthrough products coming out this year:

A. Weight Loss Break-through that in clinical trials found the average woman lost 22 lbs of fat and gained 1 1/2 lbs of muscle in 8 weeks

B. Life Extension Break-through containing enzymes that, when given to mice, cause them to live 30% longer.

C. Skin Care Break-through – Scientists at Clemson University have reduced Glutathione to Nano size and when put into skin creme, results are visible in 90 seconds.

Our first product, MaxGXL, is the ONLY product in the world that is clinically proven to increase Glutathione levels in every cell in the body up to 400%, as well as recycle the used glutathione that is stored in the liver.

===================================================================

10. Superior to Juices, Pills, Berries, Bark or Plants:

There are 2 way to repair Free Radical damage on the cellular level

1. Exogenous – Plant source Pills and Juices repair "SOME" free radical damage from the outside in by stimulating regeneration.

2. Endogenous (MaxGXL) – Created naturally within all 15 million cells and repairs "ALL" free radical damage from the inside out by initiating regeneration.

This is a Very BIG Deal!

For those who understand how Free Radicals "Steal" electrons from other cells…

– Vitamin E has……… 3 extra electrons to share
– Vitamin C has……… 5 extra electrons to share
– OPC's have………….. 250 extra electrons to share
– Glutathione has…… 1 million extra electrons to share

Glutathione is the KING of ALL antioxidants

11. Compensation Plan:

The Max Compensation Plan is powerful and unique "Hybrid" of a Binary combined with a Uni-level that has unlimited income potential. This combination is attracting many Legendary, Professional Network Marketers who are jumping on board NOW while the comp.

Do you know of any legit home based business?

Please, I don't need another MLM. Also I don't want to be directed on any website which vaguely describe the nature of the business. I want to know exactly what products or services they are selling. I don't want to give out any personal info unless I know exactly what I'm getting into.

Unfortunatly all home based businesses have an MLM side to it, or at least a networking side to it, unless you do a child daycare center. But then don't hire anyone to work for you otherwise, you've just created your own MLM! There are however quite a few Home based businesses that have both. You can choose between working the business using leverage (as some who are misinformed on the whole MLM thing choose to use) while others choose to do it solely. There's a really good book that you should read rich dad poor dad that will give you a lot of detailed information on Network Marketing and how to leverage your time and increase your income level. All businesses in Corporate America use this model. You can slice and dice it any way you want, but this is the Corporate way of doing business. If you think about it, the American business model is build the same way! Welcome to Corporate America! Get a peice of paper out. Take any corporation to use as an example. On the top of your paper, draw a circle. This circle represents the Owner or partnership owners, Then write two circles under that (President/ CEO) and the Vice President. Write a few more circles under that and you have corporate management positions. A few circles under that and you have store managers, a few circles under that and you have store department managers, a few circles under that and you have sales reps. People don't realize that but unless it's a one man show no hired help, no independent representatives, everyone works in a pyramid! Or as normally refered to as MLM. It's just another way to bring in more money. A lot of businesses push this model, because it leverages everyone out. A lot of people don't understand or are misinformed of the beauty of this. That is why they don't make money and are where they are now and will always be there until they step out of their shell and venture into something that can really make a difference in their lives and make themselves into something. I know a lot of very successful home based business opporaters. Majority of them use this model and make an incredible amount of money. You can run a home based business in any industry and not use this model and work solely alone, however it will be harder to make the income level you want, meaning it will take longer.
Here's an article on home based business opportunities. Each of the industries listed has incredible income opportunities. Each of the industries you can do either way, solely or network or MLM. According to what your detailed message is asking for. You don't have to give out any personal information either. The article has links to different web sites to different industries that you can look into. Also contact information in which you can contact on your own and ask whatever questions you have and gather the information on your own.

Questions and Answers

A federal grant for a home based business for women. WHERE do I go to apply?

I WANT TO APPLY FOR A GRANT TO OPEN UP A MAINTENANCE BUSINESS. R THERE ANY FREE GRANTS FOR WOMEN WHO R UNEMPLOYED?

Posted by ksapphire98
[display_name id=”0″]

It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs Http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/… , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups — minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

Iowa Women's Foundation Http://www.iawf.org/
New Mexico Women's Foundation Http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website Http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO…

"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See Http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments."

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) Http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov Http://www.grants.gov – these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business — THERE'S NONE.

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. Minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT – Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs.

Women's Dream Team?

Does anyone know what this work at home business is? Have any experience with it?

Posted by bluez
[display_name id=”0″]

I'm a home based business owner and I've never heard of this company. Here's some things you should look into before getting involved. Using my business as an example of what to look for.
1. How long have they been in business? We checked to see how long our company was around, at the time it was nine years old and now it's 15. Do you know when they started?
2. Are they registered with the BBB. Ours is registered. I think this is important one.
3. Who's involved with the company? Like in ours Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki has endorsed our company. Check to see if anyone has endorsed this company. Also, meet with the co-founders. We've personally met our co-founders and found from our first meeting that they were incredible people with incredible visions. See if their's a time where you can meet them. If your going to be doing business, there should be a time where you should have the chance to meet with them.
4. What is the compensation plan now, and what was it like before.
See the history of the comp plan and see if increases and never decreases in it's history. We checked with the records in our business and found that in over the years, the compensation plan had only gotten better each year. As long as we've been involved, we've now witnessed the compensation plan always increasing. Check the history on yours.
5.Have they been featured in magazine's? For instance our company has been featured in several magazines Like Success, Fortune, USA Today etc. Check to see if they have. You can get a lot of information on the company by reading about them.
6. Has Inc 500 rated them? This magazine or slit rated our company the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it's first 5 years. Inc 500 shows the top 500 businesses in revenue growth. Check to see what Inc 500 rated the company your looking at.
7. Do they have a physical address that you can go to? Check for an address not just a P.O. Box
8. Where are their headquarters? Our world headquarters is in Farmington Hills Michigan, Personally been there, (If your here in the states) Other headquarters in different countries. And US headquarters in Charlotte.
9. What does the start up cost take care of? In my business headquarters takes care of all the billing for my customers, Inventory, Customer services, Order Entry, Employees, workman's comp, Cross referencing, Licensing, Insurance, paperwork, accounts payables, accounts receivables etc.
10. What is the product and service you would be selling.
Is the product and service in high demand? For instance we offer services that people are already using every day and paying for anyway, but at a lower cost. Things like Local and Long distance telephone services, Internet, video phones, digital phones, cellular phones through all the major cellular providers. We make a percentage every single month they pay their bills. Everyone uses them and everyone pays for them. When money gets tight, would they keep your service or be able to run to the store and be able to purchase them on sale? Leaving you to have to wait until they run out of what they just purchased, or wait until their finances get settled? This is what I mean by high demand.
So many different things to check out in making sure a business is a good one to get involved in. If the business feels right to you, and all questions are answered with proof, then I'd say jump in. Running a business is different then a job though. You have to treat it like it's your child and not just something your going to "try" you have to believe in the product and service and go at it full force. This is your future your talking about, no one else's.
I hope my examples of what we looking into with our business helps you be able to find the same answers in your business. Forget about asking the common question and asking someone how much they make in their business to determine if you'd get involved in ISI or not. In a business, it doesn't matter what one business is making over another. It only matters what you do in "YOUR" business. I hate it when people ask me how much I make. Because they're not going to walk into and start up their business making what I make. I've been involved with my business for over six years. So yeah, I will make more. If you tell someone how much you make, then it's a psychological thing that they expect to make that amount in a week, and that is just not going to happen. Six years of building a business verses 1 day. So don't even ask. Look at the possibilities for YOURSELF.

If you need anymore help, feel free to email me at kaiden4@aol.com.

What are good ideas for a women who wants to have a home base business?

I wish you well in what you decide to do. A home based business can be a great way to create your own income, create your own schedule, be your own boss, etc. You should realize that businesses take time to build up and you must work at it. It takes work just like everything else. If you are willing to put the effort forward, then you will do well.

Most real businesses will take some capital to get started, that's why we call them a business. A brick and mortar type of business takes thousands to start up where an at home business can be quite a small investment with very large returns. The task is to find the one that you believe in and feel confident that you can be successful at.

See what's out there and qualify yourself. The jobs you listed above for example, Are you great with kids? Do you have patience? Do you love animals? Do you know the price and the demand for popular clothing and styles? Etc. If you are not sure, take your time. Remember, you will need to sell yourself, your business, and your products to other people. Some of these people might very well be friends and family. If you are feeling doubts about what you are doing, they will most likely feel the same.

I am a home based business owner. (I always like the way that sounds…lol) I really enjoy and believe in what I am doing. I think that is important.

You asked for ideas, so I will post my links for you to look at. Other than the business info, I have some useful information for anyone looking to start a business at home. Www.miigourmetofcleveland.org , www.mygourmetbusiness.com , and a couple videos at Http://www.youtube.com/user/clevelandgou…

GOOD LUCK IN YOUR ENDEAVOR!

Republicans are the party of the wealthy. Voters know it, and Democrats plan to run on it. (Daily Kos)

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) shut down the government to try to repeal Obamacare. He gets his health coverage from his Wall Street executive wife's job.
Many groups of heavily Democratic voters tend to stay home during midterm elections, providing Democrats with a serious challenge for 2014. House Democrats are trying to combat that with a major research project aiming to figure out how to get Democratic drop-off voters to the polls in November. The most effective message they're finding is a familiar one from 2012: Republicans represent the wealthy and don't care much about working families.
Issues like the minimum wage may draw strong support, but it's that image, embodied so beautifully by Mitt Romney in 2012 but no less true in 2014, that actually makes people want to go out and vote:
> In doing the research, Democratic consultants tested several advertisements with voters and found that the most effective one featured a fictitious Republican congressman who backed the government shutdown but continued to collect his check while the House gym remained open. It accused the make- believe House member of being more interested in the perquisites of office than representing his constituents.

Home based jobs? Scam?

Almost everyone i know tells me it's a scam? Do you have experienced with these kind of jobs?

Pls share your thought about it?.!

Posted by pomme de terre
[display_name id=”0″]

I understand what you're talking about with the "home based jobs," but remember that home-based simply means you work from your home. That in and of itself is not a scam. Anyone who tells you that you can get rich quick without working is probably scamming you.

I worked with a lady just yesterday who has a home-based business. I have no idea how she got into the job, but she consults new employees with an assisted living facility, by telephone conference calls and by e-mail, in a 6-state region. She stays home and instructs the new employees working in the offices. Occasionally she does travel, but mostly she's home. That's a home-based job, and definitely legitimate. She makes good money, but she does work.

I also work from home, grooming dogs. I make good money, PLUS I get to stay home with my children. I can take them to school as well as pick them up afterward, and I can schedule my own days off when the children are out of school.

Local attorneys have hired people to transcribe documents at home. They transcribe then save onto their computer, then send the document to the attorney by e-mail. If the attorney approves, the documents are printed at the transcriptionist's home and she (my friend who does this) delivers documents at the end of each day as she picks up her children at school.

I know there are many more opportunities, these are just a few legitimate home-based businesses of which I have personal knowledge. A great book to read is Dan Miller's "48 Days to the Work You Love." He will help you open your mind and find opportunities where you never thought to look.

How do I become a Data base entry worker at home.

Posted by Evil Laurie 🙂
[display_name id=”0″]

The truth of the matter is that 99.9999% of these jobs advertised where you can "work from home" are scams. They involve you investing money and then more money to get materials and things that make you believe you are going to work from home but it never happens. These people are really good at what they do and are very convincing.

If there were legit data entry jobs for people that wanted to work from home they would be a lot easier to find and people would be doing them.

Sadly, in the world we live in today scammers are able to take advantage of people that want jobs like this and lead them to believe that such jobs really do exist.

Questions and Answers

What Home Based Business is good to start in this economy?

I'm willing to work hard and do what it takes to start my own business. I would like to work at home and stay home with my kids.

I no longer work from home but when I was a single mom I did, for several years. I am very knowledgeable on this topic because I spent 6 years researching and investigating over 50 work at home options. I have published articles, guides and reviews on this topic. I am happy to share some information that will help guide you in the right direction as well as give you the websites for a couple companies I have found to be more than reputable. However, no matter what, lesson number one is always do your due diligence. Thoroughly research any company you are considering and ask questions!

People are looking for work from home and the biggest problem is they don’t understand that there really are no work at home JOBS other then remote call center work. This is a viable option but there are some significant down sides to this. You are required to pay a fee, usually about $50, for a credit and background check, and if you don't meet their criteria you will be out that $50 bucks. Also you have to have a 100% quiet work environment and the pay is pretty low. Most people are not able to make more than $100 a week at best. With all these negatives there are a couple legit call center jobs you can do from home and I will cite them in my profile to the left. However, most people aren't looking for call center work.

The best way to earn an income from home would be to open your own legitimate home business. Small home businesses have increased in the last 5 years by about 200%. The best home businesses to start are those with a proven plan in place like Avon or Mary Kay however if you are like me, you are not interested in pushing products so let's skip that.

Legitimate small home businesses should have a small cost involved but be careful, all the scams will be charging too so KNOW the business. Talk to a REAL person and ask questions. Less than $150 – $200 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $600 – $1000 or more. If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are in the end. (For those who want a home business for free, rethink that idea. I've never seen any business, home or not, that was free to own. If every business was free, everyone would have one.)

Alright so here are some things to look for in a home business. Ask the following questions and MAKE SURE you have a real person to talk to. If you can't get a real person on the phone, walk away.

1. Are you rated with the BBB? (They should have C or better. Just because they have complaints or not a perfect A rating, doesn't mean they aren't a good company. ALL companies get complaints, it's the manner in which they resolve them that determines their character.)
2. Are you a member of the US Chamber of Commerce?
3. Are you in good standing with Dunn and Bradstreet? (The credit agency for businesses)
4. Are your start up costs less than $200?
5. Who would be training me? (If it's a "call center" type of call an "800 number" for help, that's no good. You want to be trained by another business owner within the company. How can someone in a call center train you on something they themselves are not doing?)
6. How do you pay your business owners? (paper checks from a Federally Insured bank and/or direct deposit through a Federally Insured bank should be the answer. No "paypal", money orders, cash or anything like that.
7. What National Publications can I find you in? (If they have a good rep, you should be able to read up on it somewhere)
8. Do you have any Fortune 500 partners or endorsements? (If Fortune 500 companies partner with them, you can bet they are legit because Fortune 500 Companies have lawyers that make millions a year making sure they only do business with reputable companies.)
9. How long have you been in business? (Definitely should be over 5 years, over 10 is even better)
10. Do YOU own a home business with this company as well?(If the answer is no, ask for the name and number of someone you can talk to who works with the company so you can get a good feel of things. If they refuse to provide it, walk away.)

No matter what you decide, AVOID these top 5 work at home scams.

5. Craft Assembly
3. Medical Billing
3. Email/Rebate Processing
2. Envelope Stuffing
1. Typing At Home / Data Entry (The biggest scam out there.)

As a breath of fresh air, I am NOT affiliated with any home business nor do I sell anything like "home business guides" or "work at home lists". I merely offer my expertise and guidance, and yes, that's free! 🙂

As I promised, I will list some home businesses that I have found to be VERY reputable and have an A rating with the Better Business Bureau in my profile to the left.

So as to follow Yahoo's TOS, the sites can be found only IN MY PROFILE if you would like to see them.

I wish you the best of luck in your search!

What is the best paying home based business in Canada?

I am looking for the best home based business in Canada with the best paying commissions.

If you are looking at a home based business in Canada that does have an extremely good business commission structure, you could look into a blog called Perpetual Leverage Canada. These guys are more business savvy, so I trusted them more because of their experience in business. The funny thing was that people kept giving me the names of these small commission structure home based businesses in Canada that I could try.

I looked into the model and the principles of Perpetual Leverage Canada and it just made sense to look into a company that could support a solid business structure from someone here in Canada. I looked into the online resources and found these guys were really committed to ensure the best people get in and people that do not fit the business model, do not get in. The commission structure is based on perpetual leverage and is by far one of the best paying home based business in Canada, for sure.

I am an online marketer, so I believe that I found, after much research, the best paying home based business in Canada and that is Perpetual Leverage Canada and their business system. This system has been around for over 20 years and is only new to you. We don't know everything and when we find something to good to be true, our defenses come up, we are Canadians. This home based business is a powerful system taking Canada by storm. We see this home based business around the world for the more internet savvy as well and the system at Perpetual Leverage Canada is made for people who do not know a lot about the internet. This home based business can be internet based, networked, or sold as memeberships. The reason I say it is the best home based business in Canada is because the commission structure pays about 1000.00 dollars per.

For the general network marketer out there lets do some quick numbers. Do you want to make 20.00 dollars per sale to 1000 people (imagine the time) or do you want to get 1000.00 dollars from 20 people. So basically MLM people, Network Marketers in Canada see this opportunity as did people flocking to the gold rush. Check out the system, I am only telling you what is working for me in my home based business here in Canada.

For more information contact those guys at Perpetual Leverage Canada, you will quick see if you fit the model. Hope this helps you.

I have a successful home business and some of my friends and I have put together a free website to help others start their own business (and avoid scams). If you are looking for more information check out our Great Home Based Businesses site. We have specific pages on: hundreds of great ideas for home based businesses by category (including information on kit businesses and franchise businesses); resources for selling from home; resources for providing services from your home; avoiding scams and a lot of other pointers. PLEASE NOTE: we do not have a business or product that we want to sell you – our site is all about providing information.
————————————–…
When it comes to avoiding scams – here are some things that we have learned – if you are unsure then you need to ask yourself the following questions:
1. What is the value that you have added to the product or project?
2. Would someone pay you to perform this service in person?
3. Do they need money upfront?
Some legitimate businesses may require that you pay a franchise fee or buy a business kit in order to start your business with them. The presence of an upfront fee is not a definite sign of a scam – many businesses have legitimate reasons for requesting upfront fees. Reputable franchises spend a lot of money on advertising, research, branding and other items. They charge a franchise fee in order to cover these costs and in order to earn a profit from the companies operating under their banner. Chances are decent that if you have heard of and seen the franchise in your real life (other than from the person "selling" it to you!!) then it is legitimate business. Kit based businesses can collect fees for the same reasons and also to cover the cost of your business start-up kit. Again this is a mixed bag – some companies charge fees that merely recover their costs of material – knowing that they will make their money off the mark-up on their products. Other (less reputable) companies often sell "kits" that are made up of books and other materials that provide little or no value to the person purchasing it – they do not care if you sell any of their products – some do not even have real products – they make their money from selling these "kits". Again it is important to go for businesses that you are familiar with or do your research.
4. Do you KNOW anyone that has successfully made money with this business?
5. Does the person "recruiting" you make money just by signing you up?
Beware of "pyramid" schemes – schemes in which people are paid based on how many people they sign up not based on sales or other indicators. Finders fee or referral fees are very common in all businesses but they are not the main source of money in a legitimate business. Not only are pyramid schemes illegal in most places but only the first few people in a pyramid actually make any money – the people in the centre are lucky to recover their initial investment and the people at the bottom are the ultimate losers – they lose their full investment.
And the main question:
6. Does it sound too good to be true?
Because if it does – then it probably is!!

You need to RESEARCH all aspects of starting a small business. This means checking with your local and federal better business bureau or other business verification agency. BTW – seeing a "Verified" or "BBB" (Better Business Bureau) logo on their website does not mean that they are actually registered with any qualified agencies. Many sites will put a dummy logo on their sites and some go as far as providing a link to a dummy verification page on their own domain!! You should be able to go directly to the agencies site and lookup that business there. If you find such a logo on a website then find that they are not members in good standing with that agency – then they are SCAMS!! Run away from this business, pausing only to report the site to your local fraud bureau.

Some of the more common scams are:
i. Stuffing envelopes: this common scam has you "buy" envelopes and flyers from a company – once you have stuffed the envelopes and submitted then the company will often say that the quality is below standards and do not pay you for your work – worse you never get your initial fee back.
Ii. Home assembly: this is very similar to the scam discussed in (i) – you pay for the raw material – make the products and company rejects them – leaving you out both money and time.
Iii. Medical billing: some reputable companies provide medical billing services from home and look for new typists all the time. Unfortunately, scammers have caught onto this and are trying to get people to pay hundreds of dollars to special equipment and software to do this from home. Most legitimate companies looking for workers will NOT charge the person any fees upfront. They will sign a contract with the person and provide a license to their existing software – they will also provide all of your work – you do not have to (and usually can not) try to get jobs directly from medical clinics.
Iv. "E-mail processing", "typing from home" or claims to "use your computer to make millions" or to help you "make money online": your return for investing in these scams? A half-baked summary of how you can scam others the same way you have been scammed. There are ways to earn money typing from home – but again – legitimate companies will not ask you to pay up front fees – they will not offer to sell you "customer lists" – they will provide you work directly.
V. "E-mail us for more information" or "call us at 1-900 for more information": these scams collect contact information for legitimate and scamming marketing lists. Further 1-900 phone numbers cost you money – money that goes to the scammer. The other concern is that these scams often request additional information to sell to other scammers or to engage in identity theft.
Vi. Chain letters / e-mails promising that you will "make money fast" or requesting that you send them personal or financial information or send money: these scams collect contact information for scammers, facilitate identity theft and take money from those unwitting enough to send it.
————————————–…
My key pieces of advice in picking your business:
1. Do what you know and love.
2. Follow your instincts.
3. Figure out how to provide value to your clients.
4. Talk to successful home business owners that you know and trust.
5. Whatever you do – try not to limit yourself to one income source – one of the best ways to grow your small business is to open yourself up to other income streams. If you start a catering business maybe you could also teach cooking classes in your house, or if you start a typing business then you could also do legal transcription for sale. This approach has been invaluable to me – allowing me to get through slowdowns in my "core" business.
6. Accept that "get rich quick" schemes only work for 1 in every million people and generally require illegal activity – instead try to build a lasting business that will continually pay you a reasonable amount.

As for specific ideas – there are hundreds – most of the ones we discuss on our site relate to you selling your own products (e-books, crafts, antiques, designs, CDs, DVDs, knowledge via website) or selling your own services. We generally recommend that you not pay someone else for the right to promote their products but develop your own. Contrary to popular belief – everyone has some skill or knowledge that is valuable.

Also – if you are interested in a "kit business" such as Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, AVON, etc… Or a home based business franchise such as ActionCoach, Coffee News, WSI corporate, Candy Bonquet, etc… – we have a pages dedicated to these businesses on our site.

Anyhow – that's my two cents – Good luck with your business – I'm sure if you do your homework you'll be very successful!!

Questions and Answers

Home Based Business?

How do you know which home-based businesses are legitmate, and which ones are not. What are the costs associated with them, and do they really work without having to keep recruiting people to make money?

Posted by smokylink2005
[display_name id=”1″]

Sorry for the long response, but I didn't see anyone warning about the negatives of MLMs. Do a LOT of research before you join one if you do go that route.

I noticed that a lot of replies have been for MLMs. An MLM is not your own business, it is a distributorship. You do not own anything. You just have a contract with the company to promote and market their products. The business is designed to make money for the company and pay you just enough to keep you around. That's why over 95% of MLMers drop out in the first year. It is a very hard and time consuming business. Don't let anyone tell you it's not a LOT of work and a LOT of time.

If anyone disagrees, just ask them how you can change supplies, complete for lower prices, and what happens if the parent company goes out of business. If you was your own business, if the supplier went out of business, you would just find a new supplier. The problem with MLM is that when the supplier goes… So does your downline and ALL of your hard work.

One good way to find out about an MLM is to look for the company name and lawsuit on the Internet. Companies like Amway have plenty of lawsuits out there that will help show you exactly what the distributor is and is not.

Another side to MLMs that they do not tell you about is the federal law that requires ALL MLM distributors to retail 50% or more of ALL of the products they buy. If they do not, then they violate federal law and are classified as a pyramid scheme. How to companies like Amway get around it? Well they don't. It's just very hard to prove and many MLMs get sued because of this law. For me, I decided to stop ALL my MLM distributors because of this. Even ones that were making me a decent amount of money. I do NOT want to retail products and you do not have to according to the MLMs. However, according to federal law you do!

Why the law? Easy. If you owned a retail store and ONLY sold to yourself. You would not be a legal store and would not qualify as a real business. If you do an MLM and ONLY buy products for yourself and do not retail any of them, then you are not a legal business and should not be able to qualify for tax advantages of a real business. This is where MLMers get into a LOT of trouble. Are you taking tax advantages from your MLM distributorship? Better watch out. You are not qualified to take tax advantages from an MLM if you are not retailing 50% or more of the products. How many MLMs violate this? Just about ALL of them. Why? Because it is unlikely they will get caught. But it is illegal and I will not recruite anyone into something that is illegal.

Another thing you will hear is that someone made $10K a month in an MLM. Ok… But that is NOTHING for a small business. I generate $20K a month and only net $2K to $6K. Gross for a small business means nothing. Net does. I have seen LOTS of MLMers that have copies of checks that say $10K to $15K a month. However, that is total gross income for their business (distributorship really). How much do they NET? How much time do they spend?

For me, I started my own little part-time newsletter and make a few thousand dollars every month. Some months I make as much as $6K and others as low as $2K. But I only work about 10 to 20 hours per month.

I always offer information on what I do to others free of charge. So it really is your own business. You can sell it give it away, or do whatever you want. That's how you know it's a real business. If you make up ALL the rules, you set your prices, etc.

About 1 out of 1,000 MLMs will make more than about $50 per month… And will spend even more each month. Maybe 1 out of 10,000 will make more than a few hundred dollars. Probably 1 out of 50,000 make $1,000 or more each month. How many make $2K to $6K every month with only 10 to 20 hours invested? That's why I do what I do.

Starting a home based business?

I would like to offer hair accessories for little girls from my home, at a lower price than they are offered at the stores. I have sold a few on eBay but I just don't know how to get the word out. I have tried facebook and I have open a eBay store Http://stores.ebay.com/Sales-Of-Mine.
I already have my business named registered and also I already have my state and federal ID numbers any advice would be great.
I have chosen the name Sales Of Mine just for eBay, because as I continue to grow I would like to offer more items to my consumers not just hair accessories. I have a lot of wholesalers that I will be doing business with but I thought it would be a good idea to start small and work my way up to bigger and better things.

Your margins are too low to afford any sort of paid advertising. And most free promotion methods will cost more in labor time that you will probably earn back from your tiny product line.

You probably have to think bigger, imagine if you have a booth at a flea market, what variety of little girl products would you need to to be able to pay for the space? Think of some live style sort of name that would appeal to your customers, ad men would find Sales-Of-Mine to be a terrible ineffective unimaginative name, sorry but when people use "My" or their name in a business name, they are not thinking of attracting customers, something like "Little Divas" might be a better attention getter as well as giving a hint of what you are dealing in.

Consider expanding your product like to better fulfill the customers of your theme, if you catered to "sophisticated youths" you would have little brief cases, your could use drop shipper supplied suppliers to broaden your line to attract more prospects, even if you break even on the added products they would serve the purpose of bring buyers to see your higher profit items. Really what you are offering now is like 1 foot of display space in a 99 cent store, I can't imagine those alone bringing in much money.

Creating a blog that discusses Little Divas or whatever your chosen theme is could like to your store as a "sponsor" the blog itself would not be for selling, rather it would be a fashion lifestyle magazine for the little ones.

I brought up the Divas after seeing the pair of Nicki Minaj fans almost weekly on the Ellen D show.

Questions and Answers

How to start a home based business?

I want to start a home based business, but I'm not sure where to start. I have some money saved up to invest but not a lot.

Posted by Bryan J
[display_name id=”1″]

There's two ways you can go about having a home based business.

You can invest in one of many home biz opportunities available. You basically subscribe as a member (usually by purchasing one or more of the company's products), and then you gain the rights to sell their products. You also recruit other distributors that work beneath you, and earn you a commission each time they make a sale as well. These are network marketing, MLM, and direct sales companies.

However, there are several drawbacks to these types of businesses. One is that you don't have any ownership. The products don't belong to you, the company isn't owned by you, and your downline members may or may not remain loyal to you. If the company shuts it's doors, changes it's prices or products, or simply kicks you out, you're dead in the water.

In essence, all you are is a high commissioned sales person. It works, but it has it's dangers.

A much better solution is to sell information products. The online information marketing industry offers the same exact benefits as a network marketing or MLM company (passive, residual income), and same potentially wealthy lifestyle. The advantage is that you don't have any of the drawbacks mentioned above.

You create and own the information product, the company is yours, the websites are yours, and all the profits are yours. You don't have to bother with recruiting sales people that may leave you or do nothing, and you don't have to worry about training them and putting up with their complaints and frustrations.

In other words, you will have a REAL business that can be extremely lucrative for you quickly.

Most people simply don't know how to get into the information marketing business, or are too intimidated by it because they perceive it to be difficult. However, it's really not, and there are tools for you to learn how to build an online information business to a full-time income within months, even if you're starting from absolute scratch.

Shiraz Khan and Nitro Marketing have built a strong reputation for teaching people how to build an internet business from scratch using a powerful 10-step process.

I want to start a home-based cake decorating business…?

Do I need to have a food handler's card, business license, or a health inspection? I know all of these things are necessary if I were to sell my cakes commercially, but would it be required if I were to do it as a small business at home?

Call your city hall and find out what is required to set up a food related home-based business. Every state/county/province etc will have different rules.
If you are selling your pies or cookies at a farmer's market, there are some leniencies apparently, depending on where you live.
If you are making /decorating cakes that you are selling, that IS commercial in a sense, even if from home. The rules just change sometimes depending on where you live for home-based vs. Commercial location. So check them out. You never said where you live, so nobody who posts here will give you specific rules to your area. You need to check that out yourself at your city department, as I've probably already mentioned lol.
I know there are plenty of people who don't follow the rules and have 'successful' home based cake decorating businesses. Personally I would never do that because I just believe in doing things by the book. But each to their own.
The reason I call myself amateur cake decorator is because I lost my commercial kitchen I was using. Where I live (in Western Canada) it is required that you have a separate kitchen entirely for your commercial use than you use for home cooking, and if it is right in your home, then 40% of your home must still be home use. Then you need a health inspector to come and make sure you're up to par food safe wise (proper counter tops/shelves, and proper sanitizing system (e,.g here that would be a 3 part sink- for washing, rinsing and sanitizing).
Those happen to be the requirements here.
For your city/location they will vary so you need to call your city department that gives out business licences.
Good luck!

Questions and Answers

work at home opportunity?

I am a stay at home mommy looking for a "real, legit" opportunity to work from home… Do any of you have some ideas? Have any of you worked for avon before?
Thanks for sharing….

Posted by Michelle P
[display_name id=”1″]

There are a lot of "real, legit" opportunities to work from home. I know a lot of different companies in which you can collaborate with. Avon is one. There are literally hundreds of incredible opportunities from a variety of different industries. Telecommunications in one, Travel is another, Green products is another etc etc. I know a lot of people in the telecommunications that do incredible in working at home with. I know a few home based travel agents that do well to.
One thing you need to understand about any business you venture into, is you can not be lazy. The opportunity is there, but you have to be willing to work for it and not think you can get involved in a company, then sit on your couch all day long watching t.v. And expect the companies to send you checks each month for doing absolutely nothing. These companies want to make money. If you do your part, they will do theirs. If you don't, you won't get anything from them. Just like if you had a business partner and you were doing all the work, and they were doing nothing, would you give them their cut when there was no cut to give? It's the same concept. Same as working for someone. If you don't do the work in which they want you to do, they will fire you. You can't get fired owning your own business, but you can stop yourself from brining in the income by not doing anything with your business.
So if you want a real opportunity to be finanically set, then you need to be prepared to actually do some work. Which isn't hard, but you need to put some effort into things.

Legit work at home opportunities?

I am looking for a legitimate work at home (online) opportunity. Has anyone made any money from a certain website? If you have recieved payment from a website please let me know which one it was. Thanks!

I tried over 15 opportunities in the course of 2 years so I have some great information for you on how to find a LEGIT way to work from home plus a list of top 10 work at home scams! This post is a little long, but you will walk away armed with the knowledge you need to find a legitimate work from home opportunity.

I am a single mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem. Did you know Yahoo Finance states that for every 1 real home career there are 50 scams? You have to be careful and I can show you how.

So the scams create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home. What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home.

Did you know that small home business have increased in the last 5 years by about 200%? People are really starting to realize that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Meaning, if you want to make the kind of money you are worth, the kind of money you deserve for your efforts, then you need to make that happen yourself. No one else will take care of you financially the way you would take care of yourself!

Legitimate small home businesses have some small costs involved, less than $500 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. There are some great small home franchises that you can start for $50 to $100 bucks!

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

After trying 15 things I now work about 18-25 hours per week for a well known and respected company with amazing credentials. And get this, this company’s motto is “Saving Americans, One Household At A Time”. This company actually helps keep Americans Safe and Secure by offering Medical and Dental plans at affordable rates that anyone can afford. This National Medical Healthcare Company has recently opened a new division called SecureNet where they help Americans Protect their children in a program called National Child ID in partnership with the FBI. They also help Americans get back on top of their finances with Foreclosure Avoidance, Debt Relief, Credit Repair and more. Whether you are helping people get much needed medical and dental care, helping people keep their children safe or helping people stay afloat in this uncertain economy, you can feel comfort and pride knowing you are working from home with a credible company that you would be PROUD to work with.

This is a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company for just over two years now and I make over $3000 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work, I have seen people make anywhere from $500 to over $1000. And your income will increase each month because you get paid residual income as well. This is where you do the work once, but every month when your customer pays their monthly bill, you get your commission again. Again and again, month after month, year after year. That’s called residual income.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package most of which you get from day one. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me. I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well. I’ve made some great friends working with this company.

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company’s credentials FAR SURPASSED any other home business I had ever seen. Our $25 Million Dollar Corporate Office is located at 5700 Democracy Dr., Plano, T.

Is there a legit work from home opportunity?

I am looking for a REAL opportunity to work from home…..

I don't know any company that will hire you to work out of your home. Unless you are an accountant or a tax person that has their own business from home. You could get a license for something like that and work out of your home. Or search other avenues of starting your own home based business doing something else. There's a lot of different options you have. Remember it's a business not a job. How much effort you put into it working from your home would determine how much income you'd be putting in the bank.
I'm not sure what things you like to do, so I'm not really sure where to refer you to. If you'd like to know what I do, feel free to email me and I'd be happy to show you were to go and what I do. I also created a blog on my 360 page on home based business's. If you'd like some ideas, you can take a look at the blog for about a half a dozen ideas. If you find one you like, simply contact the person who wrote it.
Good luck to you!
